Canada 150 Echoes of Rossland: Past and Present

Poetry, Spoken Word & Songwriting Contest

This contest is part of the Canada 150 celebrations in Rossland.  It is open to residents of Canada currently residing in the West Kootenay region. The call for entry is for original poetry, spoken word Canada_150_Rossland_Songwriting_Contestand songs.  There will be a prize of $150 for each of these categories. Songs must be submitted along with lyrics. There are two age categories:  youth (18 and under) and adult (18 and over). The successful entries will be showcased at a performance at the Miner’s Hall in Rossland on Sunday October 15th.  If you are unable to attend, you are required to find someone else to present your work on your behalf.

ALL SUBMITTING ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE A COMPLIMENTARY RCAC MEMBERSHIP

Work must not exceed five minutes in length.  Deadline for entry is September 15th, 2017.

Submission Instructions: There are two ways to submit.

  1. Send a signed, scanned copy of the entry form along with your work and lyrics to rosslandarts@gmail.com,  or:
  2. Mail the printed, signed form along with a hard copy of your work ( burned CD if it is a song) to:
