Bears Playing

By John McKinnon (Nelson, BC, 2014)

Every Rosslander can tell a great bear story.  Made of constructed steel and brass, Bears Playing celebrates the deep yet complex connection between the bear and human inhabitants of the Rossland area.  The bears live right outside the post office on Columbia.

This sculpture was commissioned by the RCAC with support from the Columbia Basin Trust, the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary and the City of Rossland.
