The Bronze sculpture “Girls Can Do Anything” was leased for 2017 from the Castlegar Sculpturewalk. The sculptures’ new home is on the corner of Columbia and Washington – outside the clothing shop Curiosity.
‘Girls can do anything’ depicts a young girl riding a pig. “The girl represents women and more broadly humanity; our struggles for self-actualization, our potential”… while… “the pig represent those who say we can’t do something, can’t be something. It is symbolic of those in life who strive to stifle or limit human potential”, says Jones Denkers. RCAC felt inspired by how this sculpture celebrates reaching our own full potential and is symbolic of life in general.
