Songwriting Workshop – Melody Diachun

Melody brings her experience as lead of the Songwriting Major and vocal instructor in the Contemporary Music & Technology program at Selkirk College in Nelson, BC. Workshop attendees are invited to participate in group songwriting collaborations, try things out, and contribute ideas in a positive environment that encourages creativity and development of personal style. This interactive workshop will focus on song form, lyric-building exercises, story development, and other topics catered to the group. If desired, attendees may bring their own instruments and/or sing. Melody can also offer constructive feedback on original songs.

She has a very appealing and friendly voice, a subtle but exciting improvising style, and is open to the influences of current pop and r&b music. The singer’s brand of groove-jazz is both creative and accessible, appealing to a wide audience while being joyfully unpredictable.
