Emerging From Adversity – Art is in Our Nature: Press Release

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC) in collaboration with Rossland Arts Centre Society (RACS) invites all artists to a juried visual arts exhibition, entitled “Emerging From Adversity – Art is in Our Nature.

This exhibition invites artists to submit expressions of overcoming the challenges and disruptions of adversity, while celebrating our communities unique artistic nature. This exhibition is an opportunity to share inspirations, newly formed ideas resulting from the experience of isolation and restrictions imposed by the pandemic and a heightened appreciation for our natural surroundings.

A jury will select 6 artists from the submissions of this exhibition, to have their artwork printed on Rossland Arts Centre brand merchandise. The artists chosen to participate in this unique opportunity will be paid licensing fees for the use of the images of their artwork. The merchandise will be used as a fundraising project for the Rossland Arts Centre.

Thanks to the generous support of the RDKB – Columbia Basin Trust this exhibition is possible. These sponsors provide an opportunity for emerging and established artists to showcase their work in our community.

The exhibition will be held in the Lily May Room, Miners Hall from October 29 – November 6, 2021 and is open to all mediums and ages 12 and up.

Exhibition hours are October 29 – November 3, 11am – 5pm and November 4-6 , 1pm – 7pm
