SUMMARY:Shirley Gnome & Parlour Panther
DESCRIPTION:Who Is Shirley Gnome?  \nShirley Gnome is a Canadian singer-comedian and cabaret musician based in Vancouver/Montreal. Known for her funny\, taboo\, and irreverent songs\, she straddles the line between musician and comedian with a distinctly theatrical style. Her original songs span genres\, from country and folk to R&B\, soul\, electronic pop\, and indie rock. Her latest album\, Live Bare & Natural\, and its companion comedy special were released in March 2025. Whether in an intimate cabaret or on a major international stage\, Shirley Gnome delivers a fearless and unforgettable performance – singing truth to power\, one laugh at a time. \nWhat can you expect from a Shirley Gnome show? \nShirley Gnome delivers a high-energy musical comedy experience that blends sharp satire\, irreverent humour\, and powerful vocals. Themes often explore sexuality\, identity\, and societal norms\, offering a refreshing take on subjects we often shy away from. Audiences can expect playful banter\, witty improvisation\, and interactive moments\, making each performance feel unique. Her shows combine theatrical flair and expressive physical comedy\, enhancing the storytelling of her songs. While comedic\, Shirley moves fluidly between humour\, poignancy\, and vulnerability\, creating an emotional arc alongside the laughs. At the heart of Shirley’s music is a bold\, inclusive energy – creating a space where all identities are celebrated\, discomfort transforms into laughter\, and taboo topics are met with joy and candour.  \nWho is the audience? \nA wide range of ages and backgrounds enjoy the shows – women aged 18-70\, LGBTQIA2S+ folks\, and couples on date night in particular. Her show is also a big hit with those celebrating special occasions (birthdays\, anniversaries\, etc). The loose\, nightlife environment created by her cabaret style show encourages younger people to venture out to the theatre\, some for the first time. \nShirley will be performing with the band Parlour Panther\, a nonbinary-led four-piece indie rock band from Vancouver\, known for their rich vocal harmonies\, lush guitar tones\, and spacey synths. Over a decade of touring\, Parlour Panther has become a fan-favourite on the Canadian festival circuit\, earning repeat invites to festival stages at Khatsahlano\, ArtsWells\, Rogue Arts\, and Vancouver Jazz. \nCome see this amazing show at the Rossland Miners Hall on Sunday\, September 27th\, 2026! \nA 19+ only event.  \nTickets on sale now for $35 each. That legacy of welcome lives on in the songs and fiddling of Cape Breton’s breakout roots artist Morgan Toney.  \nWith thousands of years of tradition behind him\, Toney melds the Scottish heritage of this Nova Scotian island with Mi’kmaq songs\, stories\, and language in his own genre of music\, “Mi’kmaltic\,” meaning Mi’kmaq + Celtic. His new album\, ‘Heal the Divide’ (released on March 7th\, 2025 with Indigenous labelIshkōdé Records)\, recognizes the difficult history the L’nuk (Mi’kmaq People) and all First Nations peoples have had in Canada. It also celebrates the L’nu legacy in Canadian culture. It’s part of Toney’s larger vision to bring people together\, to set our differences aside\, and walk toward a place that Tony calls the “Promised Land.”  \nMorgan Toney proudly welcomes the rest of Canada and the world to L’nu traditions as they contain many universal teachings.  \nHe is joined by fellow Musician Ryan Roberts. Together\, they have created a fusion of Culture\, a bridge between two worlds\, and a path ahead for Truth and Reconciliation. \n\nhttps://www.morgantoneymusic.com/ \nDream Catcher- Morgan Toney \nKo’jua – Morgan Toney \nMi’kmaq Honour Song \n

In harmony\, their voices sensitively tread between the impossible fragility of bent porcelain and the nuanced joy of torn fabric\, lovingly mended. Leading with curiosity\, empathy\, and charm\, Cazzola & Phelan share vignettes inside stories inside songs – compelling listeners to consider community in ways that feel both familiar and audaciously forward-looking. \nCazzola and Phelan’s stories about love\, grief\, and justice – strangers\, friends\, and regulars\, can be heard on the ambitious and orchestrally-informed Heirlooms (2022) or their enthusiastic introduction Matches (2018). \nThey assert that music-making is a regenerative practice\, and demonstrate this mentality through ongoing collaborations with artistic peers\, community partners\, and advocacy groups. With this community-forward approach\, Tragedy Ann have been privileged to perform across Canada and internationally in living rooms and backyards\, as well as at such venues as the National Arts Centre\, Celtic Connections Festival (Scotland)\, Haliburton Folk Society\, Clonakilty International Guitar Festival (Ireland)\, Egersund Visefestival (Norway)\, Blue Skies Music Festival\, Hillside Festival\, and once\, a Belgian horse centre.  \n At home\, their musical and personal lives are inevitably married – both literally and figuratively. Cazzola and Phelan are passionate about community-building\, gardening\, and culinary adventure; going so far as to publish a cookbook alongside Heirlooms. Dedicated to living gently and ethically in community\, Liv is a board member for Hillside Festival and a cofounder of Music Declares Emergency’s Canadian chapter. Braden is a former president and five-year member of Guelph Arts Council’s board of directors\, and has recently launched the Yukon Gold Folk Club in Guelph. \n tragedyannmusic.com \nTragedy Ann- Every Morning Music Video\n\nTragedy Ann- Velveteen (Live at Dublin St. United) \nTragedy Ann- I’m So Well (Wellness Anthem) – Live at Vern’s Barn
