Email performance.rcac@gmail.com. \n2026 JUNO WINNING Mi’kmaq fiddler and singer Morgan Toney brings the fiery fiddling of Cape Breton Island with the old songs of the Mi’kmaq People together with brilliance and heart. \n‘First Flight’\, Toney’s 2023 East Coast Music Award-winning debut album\, celebrates language and heritage in Toney’s transformation of traditional songs like the Ko’jua and the Mi’kmaq Honour Song alongside highly original songcraft. \nThe Mi’kmaw were likely the first people that European explorer John Cabot met in 1497 on the East Coast of what would come to be Atlantic Canada. That legacy of welcome lives on in the songs and fiddling of Cape Breton’s breakout roots artist Morgan Toney.  \nWith thousands of years of tradition behind him\, Toney melds the Scottish heritage of this Nova Scotian island with Mi’kmaq songs\, stories\, and language in his own genre of music\, “Mi’kmaltic\,” meaning Mi’kmaq + Celtic. His new album\, ‘Heal the Divide’ (released on March 7th\, 2025 with Indigenous labelIshkōdé Records)\, recognizes the difficult history the L’nuk (Mi’kmaq People) and all First Nations peoples have had in Canada. It also celebrates the L’nu legacy in Canadian culture. It’s part of Toney’s larger vision to bring people together\, to set our differences aside\, and walk toward a place that Tony calls the “Promised Land.”  \nMorgan Toney proudly welcomes the rest of Canada and the world to L’nu traditions as they contain many universal teachings.  \nHe is joined by fellow Musician Ryan Roberts. Together\, they have created a fusion of Culture\, a bridge between two worlds\, and a path ahead for Truth and Reconciliation. \n\nhttps://www.morgantoneymusic.com/ \nDream Catcher- Morgan Toney \nKo’jua – Morgan Toney \nMi’kmaq Honour Song \n

The story starts in creation among the stars and ends in 2024. \nWatch the trailer https://vimeo.com/940939867?p=1s  \n“I loved the play. The play was so so so fun to watch. Any Questions? Email performance.rcac@gmail.com. \nTragedy Ann is a compassion project from Guelph\, Ontario. \nWhen they write songs together\, Liv Cazzola & Braden Phelan evoke humanizing questions with pump organ\, singing saw (that’s right\, the saw!)\, guitar and accordion. In harmony\, their voices sensitively tread between the impossible fragility of bent porcelain and the nuanced joy of torn fabric\, lovingly mended. Leading with curiosity\, empathy\, and charm\, Cazzola & Phelan share vignettes inside stories inside songs – compelling listeners to consider community in ways that feel both familiar and audaciously forward-looking. \nCazzola and Phelan’s stories about love\, grief\, and justice – strangers\, friends\, and regulars\, can be heard on the ambitious and orchestrally-informed Heirlooms (2022) or their enthusiastic introduction Matches (2018). \nThey assert that music-making is a regenerative practice\, and demonstrate this mentality through ongoing collaborations with artistic peers\, community partners\, and advocacy groups. With this community-forward approach\, Tragedy Ann have been privileged to perform across Canada and internationally in living rooms and backyards\, as well as at such venues as the National Arts Centre\, Celtic Connections Festival (Scotland)\, Haliburton Folk Society\, Clonakilty International Guitar Festival (Ireland)\, Egersund Visefestival (Norway)\, Blue Skies Music Festival\, Hillside Festival\, and once\, a Belgian horse centre.  \n At home\, their musical and personal lives are inevitably married – both literally and figuratively. Cazzola and Phelan are passionate about community-building\, gardening\, and culinary adventure; going so far as to publish a cookbook alongside Heirlooms. Dedicated to living gently and ethically in community\, Liv is a board member for Hillside Festival and a cofounder of Music Declares Emergency’s Canadian chapter. Braden is a former president and five-year member of Guelph Arts Council’s board of directors\, and has recently launched the Yukon Gold Folk Club in Guelph. \n tragedyannmusic.com \nTragedy Ann- Every Morning Music Video\n\nTragedy Ann- Velveteen (Live at Dublin St. United) \nTragedy Ann- I’m So Well (Wellness Anthem) – Live at Vern’s Barn
