DESCRIPTION:June 6 & 7\, 2026 | 10:00AM–3:00PM📍 Rossland Seniors Centre💲 Standard Registration: $200🎟 Registration Limited to 10 Participants \nJoin the Rossland Council for Arts and Culture & Rossland Arts Centre Society for a two-day painting workshop with Louise Drescher exploring ways to capture what you see around Rossland through observation-based sketching and painting. \nParticipants will begin the day sketching outdoors in Rossland\, using direct observation rather than photographs as the foundation for their paintings. Back in the studio space\, Louise will guide participants through techniques for designing and developing paintings while encouraging experimentation with brushwork\, colour\, texture\, composition\, and value. \nUsing the same sketch as inspiration\, participants will explore multiple approaches to composition and paint application while developing confidence and flexibility in their painting practice. \nThis workshop is intended for intermediate to advanced painters who are interested in deepening their observational painting practice and exploring new approaches to composition\, colour\, texture\, and brushwork. \nParticipants should already have strong painting experience and be comfortable and familiar with acrylic painting materials and processes. \nParticipants Will Explore\n\nSketching from observation\nPainting without photo references\nComposition and design techniques\nColour relationships and value\nBrushwork and texture\nExperimental approaches to painting\n\nSupply List\nDrawing Materials \n\nSketchbook\nPencil\n\nPainting Surfaces \n\n4 or 5 inexpensive canvases or canvas boards\n3/4 inch depth recommended\nNo smaller than 11×14\nMulti-packs are perfectly suitable\n\nPaints \nAcrylic paint is recommended for this workshop because it dries quickly and is easy to clean up. \nSuggested colours: \n\nHansa Yellow Light\nQuinacridone Red\nThalo Blue\nUltramarine Blue\nBurnt Sienna\nYellow Ochre\nTitanium White\n\nAdditional Supplies \n\nPad of disposable palette paper\nPlastic container for water\nPaper towels\n\nBrushes \nFlats or filberts in: \n\n1”\n3/4”\n1/2”\n1/4”\nOne smaller round brush\n\nHospitality\nCoffee\, tea\, and light refreshments will be provided throughout the workshop. DESCRIPTION:Learn to juggle in simple\, satisfying steps! \nThis workshop only needs to be taught once and is made even more memorable and engaging by learning with a group of equally enthusiastic yet unsuspecting individuals ready to have their minds opened. This activity is inclusive\, inspiring\, intriguing\, motivating\, and designed for absolutely everyone. A satisfying and progressive activity that will allow each individual to reach their goals. \nThe balls (and encouragement) will be provided. \nTaught by BC Certified Teacher and Lifelong Educator Aladar Reusz (aka Sir Drop-A-Lot)\, the juggling metaphor for life is perfect for parents\, teens\, seniors\, groups\, teams\, athletes\, and more. \nAll ages\, but anyone under 14 MUST be accompanied by a parent also participating in the workshop.
