Are you passionate about supporting arts and culture in Rossland? Do you have financial expertise or an interest in developing financial literacy skills? The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC) is seeking a Treasurer to join our volunteer Board of Directors.
Role Overview:
The Treasurer plays a key leadership role, providing financial oversight and guidance to ensure the success of RCAC’s programs and initiatives. This is an annual appointment made by the Board following the AGM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee RCAC’s financial processes, policies, and reporting.
- Collaborate with staff to review financial statements, budgets, and variance reports.
- Approve monthly credit card reconciliations and other expenses.
- Support the preparation and presentation of financial reports, including the annual budget and audited financial statements.
- Act as a signing authority for RCAC financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and statutory financial obligations.
- Present financial updates at Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
Requirements:
- Financial literacy (existing knowledge or willingness to learn).
- A commitment to RCAC’s mission to enrich the community through arts and culture.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
