Join the Rossland Council for Arts and Culture & Rossland Arts Centre Society for a two-day painting workshop with Louise Drescher exploring ways to capture what you see around Rossland through observation-based sketching and painting.
Participants will begin the day sketching outdoors in Rossland, using direct observation rather than photographs as the foundation for their paintings. Back in the studio space, Louise will guide participants through techniques for designing and developing paintings while encouraging experimentation with brushwork, colour, texture, composition, and value.
Using the same sketch as inspiration, participants will explore multiple approaches to composition and paint application while developing confidence and flexibility in their painting practice.
This workshop is intended for intermediate to advanced painters who are interested in deepening their observational painting practice and exploring new approaches to composition, colour, texture, and brushwork.
Participants should already have strong painting experience and be comfortable and familiar with acrylic painting materials and processes.
