Rossland, BC – March 1, 2024 – The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC) is excited to announce the call for submissions for its biannual Art of Adornment Wearable Art Fashion Show and Exhibition, slated for May 2024 has been extended. This esteemed event celebrates the intersection of art and fashion, inviting artists of all disciplines and ages from the West Kootenays region to push the boundaries of creativity and imagination.

The Art of Adornment is more than just a showcase; it’s an opportunity for artists to transform the human body into a canvas, crafting one-of-a-kind ensembles and accessories that redefine wearable art. The gala evening promises an immersive experience, featuring a captivating fashion show of ensembles that highlight the theatrical and storytelling aspects of wearable artwork. Attendees will also have the chance to explore an exhibit of accessories, each piece curated to enchant and inspire.

This year’s event aims to elevate the standards of wearable art, with professional artists serving as judges and updated criteria to support participating artists. The expanded prize categories, including Best in Show, Eco, Youth, and Technolog”me,” underscore the event’s commitment to diversity and innovation.
